Therapies
-
Abyhanga in Saskrit means "glowing massage" or "limb massage".
Think somewhere between Lomi Lomi and Swedish massage. Long flowing strokes along the energetic lines of the body, relaxing the muscles and moving stored energy. Using best quality Ayurvedic oils to nourish the skin, treat the body and provide a deep relaxation.
75 mins - 75 EUR
105 mins - 100 EUR
Prep and What to expect:
75 mins will focus on your full back, neck, arms, and legs. Laying face down on the table. Plus finishing with a short face massage.
105 mins will also incorporate your the front side of our body (including chest).
-We will sit for 10 minutes at the start to check in and discuss what you need.
-Please wear your smallest and cheapest pair of underwear, as there is quite a bit of oil used. Or it is fine to be fully naked.
-I recommend not consuming caffeine a few hours before the massage so you can deeply relax.
-Please attend without the influence of drugs, cannabis, alcohol. The thinning of blood and altered pressure will interact with the massages' movement of your muscles and increased circulation of blood. It is also important both of us are in the space with informed consent.
After the massage:
-Drink 1 litre of water - and remain hydrated. A lot of energy is moved and needs to be hydrated so toxins can flow out of the body.
-Eat light - soup, rice, something easy on the body.
-Relax - best not to stress your body afterwards.
-
Sound Bowl Therapy (aka Tibetan bowls) uses metal sound waves to resonate deeply through your body.
A 1:1 session with the bowls works to relax the mind and body, allowing for deep relaxation. A moment to disconnect from the outside world and let the vibration send you into a trance state. Succumb to the vibration of the bowls placed both around and on your body, as it penetrates deeper and deeper into your body and mind.
60 mins - 70 EUR
Prep and What to expect:
·We will sit for 10 minutes at the start to check in and discuss what you need.
-The session will take place fully clothed, laying on a floor mattress. There are many cushions and bolsters to make it comfortable.
-Remove any metal adornments prior to the session, and let me know about any that can not be removed.
-I recommend not consuming caffeine at least a few hours before the session so you can deeply relax and bring your heart rate down
-Please attend without the influence of drugs, cannabis, alcohol. The vibrations are intense enough and it is important we both enter the treatment with informed consent.
After the session:
-Drink plenty of water - and remain hydrated. A lot of energy is moved and needs to be hydrated so the energy and toxins can flow out of the body.
-Relax - best not to stress your body afterwards. Whilst it may seem light and relaxing, the vibrations can have a powerful effect on the body and mind. Best to journal or take a walk (we are close to the canal or the Spree)
Ab0ut ME
Hey, I am Martin (he/him). A queer man originally from Australia, living in Berlin since 2015.
I have always been interested in bodies and the ability of our hands to tune into another. Both of my studies for Ayurveda and Sound Bowl Healing were in Goa, India.
Ayurveda, aka “the science of life”, is a whole universe deeply embedded in the life and history of India. I am constantly learning more and happy to share everything I know with you. I have a larger arsenal of Ayurveda treatments that can be incorporated for longer-term clients, after we have established your Prakruti and we know the specific areas to treat.
I have also studied Thai Massage, Chi Nei Tsang, and Tok Sen in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Receiving Chi Nei Tsang had a profound effect on my mental state of being and I have had an improved mood ever since, so I made sure to study it deeply and bring it back to Berlin.
I have a deep respect for these practices that are strongly rooted to their cultures. Both Ayurveda and Thai Massage are ways of daily life in their lands and we can benefit a lot from their wisdom. It is such a privilege to connect with these practices and share with my community.
I also work as a Life Coach. There are moments when all the practices overlap, which I really enjoy..
A note on my approach to bodies:
My intention is to create as intentional a space as possible that welcomes all bodies, expressions and identities. Language and touch will be as inclusive and affirmative as possible.
Consent is key and we will discuss your needs before each session to make sure we are respecting any boundaries. I encourage you to communicate any change in preferences along the way and encourage you to say “stop” at any time. We can take a pause at any point. This service is for your own comfort and this takes precedence.
Ayurvedic Massage is all about oil and requires skin contact. The most ideal would be fully naked so as not to destroy your fabrics, but wearing underwear is totally fine! We can discuss any considerations you require.
Sound Bowl Healing can be performed completely without physical touch if desired.
